Main Activities and Projects
17th May 2007 – as part of the Euroradio 2006/07 Music in Composers’ Homes Season there was a concert at the Gustav Mahler birthplace at Kaliště near Humpolec featuring his songs. The concert was relayed on the EBU satellite network and included a trail for the MAHLER 2010/ 2011 project.
19th September 2008 - marking the 100 year anniversary of the world premiere of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 7 in Prague, there was a concert in Prague by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra which took part in the 1908 first performance of the Symphony.
19th September 2008 – opening concert of the Music of Thousands Festival – MAHLER JIHLAVA: Symphony No. 7 by Gustav Mahler with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Vladimír Válek.
September 2008 – publication, as part of the Music of Thousands Festival in Jihlava, of the facsimile of a souvenir postcard from the 1908 Jubilee Exhibition in Prague, showing the concert hall where the premiere took place.
September 2008 – media focus on the history of the Symphony No. 7 premiere, Czech Radio, VLTAVA channel
September 2008 – publication of a Paper on the Symphony No.7 premiere, Hudební rozhledy journal
2009 – production of a documentary series on Gustav Mahler – author: Dr Zdeněk Mahler
24 May 2010 – presentation of a new documentary film Gustav Mahler – director Petr Ruttner
18 May – 18 June 2010 – International Music Festival Music of Thousands - Mahler-Jihlava 2010
7th July 2010 – great international celebration at the Gustav Mahler birthplace
unveiling of Mahler’s statue and opening of the ‘Park of Gustav Mahler’ in Jihlava

a/ Gustav Mahler and Bohemia Exhibition, in co-operation with the Netherlands Gustav Mahler Society and in co-production with The Prague Spring International Music Festival
b/ Gustav Mahler at the Vienna Court Opera 1897-1907 Exhibition, in co-operation with the Vienna Opera and the Austrian Cultural Institute.
Both to be shown also in Jihlava.
2010 – autumn: Translation of the Gustav Mahler and Justina Mahler correspondence ‘Liebste Justi’ (translated by Dr Alena Jakubíčková)

7th July 2010 - presentation of new variety of rose GUSTAV MAHLER, that was grown by Ing.Josef Urban from Želešice.
